Saturday: Music documentaries programme and awards at the ICA. On Sunday evening Animus Films will take over the ICA bar and the audience will provide ideas for the team to produce on the spot. I had a lot of nice conversations with an amazing range of people (from scientists to UN lawyers, illustrators to psychotherapists) in quick succession, even though I hadn’t seen the film beforehand which was meant to be our conversation sparker. But for those with busy London lives, this is an easy way to quickly meet new people and have a bit of banter.

Last night as I settled down for a quiet drink with a friend in the comfy sofas of the Curzon Soho, a woman came over and asked if we were single. However, it wasn’t a personal request – she was two ladies short for a filmtastic speed dating night that was taking place a few seats over. Every month, the Curzon Soho puts on a dating night which includes tickets to see a film, followed by some organised chit chat.
The idea of speed dating itself is pretty damn weird, but in reality it was actually rather fun.
